Box of NZ goodwill off to Samoa

Two schools across the Pacific Ocean will celebrate Samoa’s 50th Independence Day with a gift all the way from Palmerston North.
Plans to send a shipping container full of classroom materials to Apia’s Pesega Fou and Vailoa primary schools showcased the generous spirit of the Palmerston North community, Christian Community Church pastor Jeremy Faumuina said.
“The stories that have come out of Winchester School ... this one kid has sacrificed his pocket money to buy pencil sharpeners,” he said.
